What to see on a trip to the Maldives?
Our six day voyage around the Maldives begins in Male and ends in Felidhoo, with stops that encompass what a trip to the islands should be about, relaxation. Known as the hotspot for honeymooners, romantics and escape voyagers, the Maldives is about exploration, not doing so would be an opportunity missed.
Start at the “pint-sized” Maldivan capital, explore the mercantile nation with its fascination for sharks, bright buildings, restaurants, cafés and all the subsequent activities, enjoy the hustle and bustle of this tiny space – after all – what you find on the rest of your journey would be something very different.
Dive with sharks, swim with exotic fish or just explore the reefs, either way, you won’t be lost for things to do on this luxury journey across this spectacular vista of land, beach and sea.
The second day sees your chartered vessel visit, Rashdoo Atoll, one for the adventurer and historian, one for the individual looking to connect spiritually. Here, you can find Buddhist temples alongside other religions, each practising peacefully and respectfully in the island getaway. Here, this backpacker enclave is what people search for, there is a mixture of great diving, great beaches, great guesthouses and even better cafés and restaurants, a hidden gem – so don’t tell anyone we told you!
Luxury cruising around Ari Atoll, Meerufenfushi and dhangethi expose you to the beauty of the Indian Ocean, the sun-kissed paradise of the Maldives as a set of island togetherness and yes, the water. We can’t go on more about the water if we tried, it’s perfect. Crystal clear and blue, everything you want to sit back and relax – this is what luxury cruising should be all about.
The journey finishes in Felidhoo, another tiny capital that packs a punch in quaint charm and unspoilt beauty. Here, from the fisherman to the boat builders, the guesthouses to the small cafés, you will fall in love with a different part of your beautiful, soul-quenching journey, right at the very end.
