Monaco Yacht Charter

Monaco offers spectacle. The Riviera beyond it offers everything else.

A Monaco yacht charter is defined by celebrated harbours, short Riviera passages, world-famous events and a blend of glamour and natural beauty that extends along the coast in both directions. From the Casino de Monte-Carlo and Port Hercule to the protected Iles d’Or and the quieter water between the celebrated ports, routes are shaped around your pace, whether that means lively evenings ashore or quiet anchorages and unhurried swim days onboard.

Princess curates each luxury yacht charter in Monaco around your timing and preferences, carefully matching yacht, crew and itinerary to your group so the experience feels seamless from embarkation to return.

Why Monaco remains a
charter favourite

Monaco is one of the Mediterranean’s most celebrated charter bases, where a deep-water natural harbour and proximity to the best of the French Riviera mean more time experiencing, dining and unwinding at anchor.

The contrast between Monaco’s famous harbours and the quieter protected islands just along the coast allows itineraries to move naturally between spectacle and calm. In peak season, berths at Port Hercule book well in advance and the anchorages fill quickly around the major events, which is why local insight and thoughtful planning are essential.

A curated Monaco journey

Sample eight-day route from Monaco

Distance

170 nm

Duration

7h50m

1
Day 1
Monaco to Nice
Begin your charter with a short sail west to the Bay of Angels — Nice’s Old Town, its morning food markets and the 7km Promenade des Anglais make it the right first stop before the coast opens up.
2
Day 2
Nice to Antibes
Arrive in Antibes, home to the largest marina in the Mediterranean, the Picasso Museum inside the medieval Grimaldi Castle and water clear enough at Cap d’Antibes to make an afternoon swim the priority.
3
Day 3
Antibes to Cannes
Cruise to Cannes — the Palais des Festivals, the Boulevard de la Croisette and the designer boutiques that line it, a city that takes its reputation seriously and delivers on it.
4
Day 4
Cannes to St Tropez
Sail to Saint-Tropez, where the old harbour, the cobbled streets of La Ponche and Pampelonne beach — with its clubs and the restaurants that have made the name — are all within reach of a morning arrival by sea.
5
Day 5
Saint-Tropez to Porquerolles
Discover a protected island with national park status, sandy beaches and trails worth covering by bike or on foot — the quietest day of the week and, for many groups, the one they remember longest.
6
Day 6
Porquerolles to Saint-Raphaël
Experience Saint-Raphaël — a working harbour, a daily market in the old town and good beaches on either side of it, a useful and underrated stop between the protected islands and the return east.
7
Day 7
Saint-Raphaël to the Lérins Islands
Unwind at the Lérins Islands just off Cannes — pine forests, walking trails, a working monastery with its own vineyard on Saint-Honorat and the fort on Sainte-Marguerite where the Man in the Iron Mask was held.
8
Day 8
Lérins Islands to Monaco
Conclude your charter in Monaco — the Casino, the Palace, the Michelin-starred restaurants and Port Hercule — with a week of the Riviera to set it against and a clearer sense of why it sits at the top of it.

Best time to charter Monaco

APRIL MAY JUNE JULY AUGUST SEPTEMBER OCTOBER

The main charter season runs from May to September, when warm water and long summer days define the experience. May brings the Formula 1 Grand Prix and September the Monaco Yacht Show — both events when Port Hercule berths book well in advance and the anchorages fill quickly.

June and the quieter weeks of September offer the same coast with more space at the anchorages and more availability at the best restaurants, which is why for those not attending the major events, these months reward thoughtful planning.

Monaco Charter
FAQs

When is the best time for a Monaco yacht charter?

May for the Grand Prix, September for the Yacht Show. June and quieter September weeks for more availability at anchorages and restaurants. July and August for peak warmth and the full Riviera season.

How many destinations can we visit in one week?

Typically 5–7 stops along the Riviera, depending on pace and routing. The route naturally takes in Nice, Cannes, Saint-Tropez and the protected islands to the west.

Is Monaco suitable for families?

Yes. Short passages, protected island stops at Porquerolles and the Lérins, and a strong mix of history, beaches and dining make it very family-friendly.

Do I need to book a berth in Monaco in advance?

Yes. Berths at Port Hercule book well in advance, particularly during the Formula 1 Grand Prix and the Yacht Show in September. The Princess team handles all marina bookings as part of the charter arrangements.
